Early Dark Wines

Wine has been in the news a lot in the last couple of years, with studies showing that a glass of a red wine a day could actually be good for you
There’s no such thing as too much wine, and now, good news for Punekars to get the chance to try out new wines!

Tetrad Global Beverages Pvt Ltd, has launched their first hand-crafted collection of wines in collaboration with Vignobles Arbeau, award-winning winemakers from France– these highly awarded wines are handmade in small batches from grapes grown in the heart of the sunny Fronton region of Sud Ouest (South Western) France. These vineyards follow traditional wine-making techniques and use state-of-the-art equipment combined with a modern approach to wine-making.

Why the name Early Dark? “Well, people enjoy a drink a little late in the evening, usually when it’s dark. But with wine, we wanted to tell people, it’s never too early!” chuckles Kewadkar.
Recently,  Tetrad Global Beverages invited me over scrumptious brunch at Novotel and relishing their reserve range of French wine they have launched in Pune and other cities.

Bangalore-based Tetrad is a boutique marketing and distribution company for Bottled in Origin (BIO) wines,  in India.

They served us their best selling blend of Negrette, Syrah, Gamay red and a Chardonnay white wine perfectly paring with the Indian Cuisine - you get the hint of fruits and some spices on every sip.

Early Dark’s Bordeaux Rouge is made in small batches. It is a classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which brings in soft tannins with notes of fruit and spice - perfect to pair with red meats, cheese, and even paneer in rich gravies, this wine has a balanced acidity and fruit that enhance the flavour of these heavy foods. What is interesting is that this wine is made from grape vines that are 30 years old, which essentially means that their quality is higher. It can be kept for two-three years, and in ideal conditions will improve in terms of taste, though indulging right away does not take away anything from its experience.

The Sauvignon Blanc on the other hand is made from the grapes of the Gaillac region. Some of the plantings in this region are over 2000 years old, dating back to Roman times (award-winning wine writer Andrew Jefford refers to the wine from the region as being a millennium ahead of Burgundy and 1,500 years ahead of Bordeaux!) And it is available to us now in the Indian market, and perfectly partnered with seafood, vegetables prepared in Indian and Asian styles.

Early Dark Wines are currently available in Pune ,Mumbai and major metro cities, and start at Rs 1,550 going up to Rs 1,975
Early Dark offers you a French origin, quality-certified, award-winning wine collection at a competitive price point

The best part? The Early Dark Collection is available now across Pune in select stores, so, if you’re looking to try a new vino, crack open a bottle and see what it’s all about!
