Chinese is my favorite and most preferred cuisine out of all possible options you can offer me. If someone gives me a pick, I shall always end up at one single Destination.
After years of try n error where my mum dislikes something out of the take out from x place or shall be my sister or me. We finally chose a new delivery setup named Sunny's kitchen, just walkable distance from my home, it was recommended and so we gave a try..
We made a personal visit unlike ordering cause when you need certain amendments it's always better to talk, choose, and watch it cook. Small setup with three chefs around with the owner standing at the counter though still altering on their menus, probably for demanding customer's like us.. 😆
We let him make a choice and just added few pointers, no color, spicy and with extra sauce and fried noodles. Found lil disappointed with the container as generally We used to receive 750gms but they have standard box of 600gms but for gravies too they have decided plastic containers and not pouches which surely makes it more neat and easier to hog.But then cause of quantity we ended up buying one extra pax just with an intention we aren't left hungry by the end of hog.
We didn't waste a single moment to unwrap the freshly cooked meal, and the aroma itself spoke rightly done work. My niece would have probably hogged in no time before I unwrap the rest package, and We somehow realized it was too delicious for us to wish we had another packet of mains.
We received oyster chilly noodles, burnt garlic rice and some unique titled dish called ice pise, honestly won't suggest this name cause i personally feel a name should explain by itself to a customer, especially in such competitve market where customer just leave the page in fraction of seconds.
Loved the black sauce gravy three piece of tender chicken and some strong flavor or garlic Punch. I didn't really enjoyed the red gravy it was good but weren't really extra ordinary. He gave us white rice which was less with salt but when we gave feedback he cleared the intention is to balance it with the gravy served with it. Loved the cirspy fried noodles and their schezwan sauce which was well done.
We ordered within few days another time, and this time we choose starter, two rice two noodles with some gravies. Let him choose two new items except the two dishes we liked. This time spoke with the chef directly as I confused Sunny enough with the dishes. Probably he served this time Manchurian gravy instead of oyster sauce but it was delicious, red sauce again not Recommended (this time he added cauliflower and babycorn which honestly doesn't make sense or taste good with it.)
Asked him to give schezwan without color , what I liked was the chef used red hilly paste to bring out the color needed to be eye pleaser and yet skipped the artificial colors.
Found lollipop average and honestly they should keep the rates lil lower as comparing to their mains , if they focusing on more sales and volume, anyways will leave at the management . Sadly they fried it first and then waited for mains so it turned soggy and chewy.
Few suggestions, they need new pamphlet for a quick search, the owner or the manager needs to know the rates and the menu soon to decide and suggest. They must continue focusing on a certain segment than catering everything and anything. As of now they are into Indian, Chinese, tandoor heard they want to get into healthy segment too. But if the customers know their chefs are same, setup is same. No matter what you sell, somewhere you end up loosing your niche key selling. For the rates they must give 750gms boxes as that shall not affect their marginal cost but please customers and fill their tummy. During weekend they need to reduce their waiting time, it nearly took us 50 mins for our order which was after waiting their place and self pick up.
Wishing them good, hopefully kanjurmarg needed some decent and pocket friendly setups delivering good meals at doorstep. Only if they can work with few loose ends they can grow well on longer terms.
